ORDINANCE NO. 2319 , <br />A N ORDINA NCE OF THE CITY OF PA R IS, PA R IS, TEXA S, <br />PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 11-73, 11-73. 1, <br />11-73. 2 AND 11-73.3, AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE <br />NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1975 EDITION; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE- <br />WITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL l, <br />1977. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br />Section l. That Section 11-73 of the Code of Ordinances of <br />the City of Paris be amended so that such shall read as follows: <br />"Sec. 11-73. National Electrical Code, 1975 Edition <br />adopted. <br />For the purpose of practical safeguarding of persons <br />and of buildings and their contents from hazards arising <br />from the use of electricity for light, heat, power, radio, <br />signalling and for other purposes, that certain electrical <br />code known as the National Electrical Code, 1975 Edition, <br />published by the National F.ire Protection Association, is <br />hereby adopted as the minimum standards for the City of <br />Paris, Paris, Texas, save and except such portions as are <br />deleted, modified or amended by this Article, and the same <br />is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at <br />length herein. A copy of such Code has been and is now on <br />file in the Office of the City Clerk, and the provisions <br />thereof shall be controlling in the installation of all electri- <br />cal wiring, devices and equipment within the corporate <br />limits of the City of Paris. " <br />Section 2. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris <br />be amended by changing the following numbered sections to read as <br />follows: <br />"Sec. 11-73, l. Section 210-8(b) amended. <br />Section 210-8(b) of the Electrical Code adopted by <br />this Article is hereby amended by adding the following <br />to the same: "or shall establish and implement an assured <br />grounding conductor program that meets the minimum re- <br />quirements of OSHA as stated in Federal Register <br />1926. 400. " <br />"Sec. 11-73.2. Section 210-25(b) amended. <br />Section 210-25(b) of the Electrical Code adopted by <br />this Article is hereby amended by deleting the fi fth para- <br />graph therefrom which states the following: <br />"For a one -family dwelling, at least one receptacle <br />outlet shall be installed outdoors. " <br />
