ORDINANCE NO. 2324 , AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 31-17, 31-18, 31-19 AND 31-20 OF SAID CODE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN THE WATER AND SEWER RATES AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SUCH RATES AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE OF APRIL 11, 1977. BE IT ORDA INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIZ'Y OF PARIS: Section 1. lhat Section 31-17 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Paris, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 31-17. Definition. (a) As used in this article, the word "division" shall mean the water and sewer billing and collecting division of the dpartment of finance. (b) As used in this article, the phrase "base cost" shall mean the cost derived by adding the costs of the following components: (1) Chemicals consumed at water treatment plant. Section 2. That Section 31-18(a) and (b) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Paris, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 31-18. Water rates. (a) Charges for water furnished by the city are hereby fixed at the following rates per cubic foot per month, for both domestic and commercial users, as registered by the user's water meter: (2) The capital., operating and maintenance costs for storing the first 11 mgd purchase contract with the U. S. Corps of Engineers for water in Pat Mayse Reservoir. (3) Electrical power consumed from the point of raw water storage through the point of discharge from the water treatment plant.
