ORDINANCE NO, 2332 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CERTAIN RATE SCHEDULES FILED BY I'EXAS POWER & LIGHT COMPANY IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH RATE SCHEDULES MAY BE CHANGED, MODIFIED, AMENDED OR WITHDRAWN, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFEC- TIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Texas Power & Light Company, on December 22, 1976, did file its application for increase in its rates; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did hereto- fore in Resolution No. 1781 suspend the effective date of said re- quested rate increase, so that the same would not go into effect on January 26, 1977; and, WHEREAS, having held public hearings with regard to such rate request; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did in Resolution No. 1803 declare that Texas Power & Light Company was entitled to a rate increase which would generate $58, 242, 508. 00; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has reviewed Texas Power & Light Company Rate Book No. RA-162, in the same form as the same was approved by the Public Utility Commission of the State of Texas and filed with the City of Paris on May 16, 1977 and finds that the same will equitably place the burden of the rate increase among the several classifications of users; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE C[TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That an increase in the rates, tariffs and charges of Texas Power & Light Company for electric power and energy sold within the City of Paris, in an amount equal to that approved by the Public Utility Commission of the State of Texas in Docket No. 178 and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Paris in Resolution No. 1803 and as reflected in Texas Power & Light Company Rate Book No. RA -162 is hereby approve-J. Section 2. That the Service Regulations of Texas Power & Light Company filed with the City Clerk on December 22, 1976, be, and the same are hereby approved. Section 3. That such Schedule of Rates and Tariffs and Service Regulations shall be effective immediately and shall apply to all bills rendered on and after June 26, 1977. Section 4. The filing of the Rate Schedules and Service Regulations, and the approval by the City Council, in the manner herein provided, shall constitute notice to the consumers of elec- tricity within the City of the availability and application of such Rate Schedules and Service Regulations.
