ORDINANCE NO. 2336 . A N ORDINA NCE OF THE CITY OF PA R IS, PA R IS, TEXA S, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING A CHAPTER TO BE NUMBERED 15-1/2; PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PARIS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, 1977. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section l. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by adding a chapter to be numbered 15-1/2, to read as follows: "CHAPTER 15-1/2 JUDICLAL DEPARTMENT Section 15-1/2-1. Department created. There is hereby created in accordance with Section 25 of the Charter of the City of Paris the Judicial Department. The head of the Judicial Department shall be the Municipal Judge. The Municipal Judge shall have the power to appoint a Municipal Court Clerk at such compensation as may be fixed by the City Council. Section 15 -1 /2 -2. Purpose. The purpose of the Judicial Department shall be to house the Judicial Branch of the City of Paris. Section 15-1/2-3. Responsibilities, duties and functions. The Judicial Department of the City of Paris is responsible for conducting the business of the Municipal Court. " Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 1977.
