ORDINA NCE NO, 2352 , AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING A NEW SUB- PARAGRAPH (b) AND RENUMBERING (b) AS SUB-PARAGRAPH (c), ALL OF SECTION 2-22 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE LIBRARN' DEPARTMENT TO BE COVERED BY TMRS AND GRANTING THEM 7070 OF THE "BASE PRIOR SERVICE CREDIT"; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 12, 1977. BE IT ORDA INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) of Section 2-22 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "(b) Employees of the Library Department created on the 8th day of August, 1977, who qualify for credit shall be allowed "Prior Service Credit" as defined in Sub-section 6(b) of Section VI of Article 6243h V. T. C. S. at the rate of seventy percent (7070) of the "Base Prior Service Credit", calculated in the manner prescribed therein. (c) In accordance wi.th the provisions of said Act, the deposits required to be made to the Texas Municipal Retirement System by employees of the several partici- pating departments on account of current service shall be calculated from and after the dates aforesaid on the full amount of such person's earnings as an employee of the City. " Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on September 12, 1977.
