(1) A minimum clearance of 3 inches should be <br />maintained around all louvers. <br />(2) A minimum clearance of 3 inches shall be <br />provided around and above recessed light <br />fixtures. Such clearance shall be maintained <br />by the installation of a collar which is fire <br />resistive. <br />(3) Gas or electric heating units which are mounted <br />on ceiling joists shall be protected by the in- <br />stallation of 1/8" cement asbestos board which <br />will extend one foot to either side of the unit. <br />(4) Exposed chimney flue tiles shall be protected <br />by a collar giving six inches air space clearance. <br />(5) Gas heater and water heater vent pipes shall be <br />protected with a fire resistive collar giving a <br />minimum of 3 inches air flow space. <br />"Section 7 -23. Licensing of installers. <br />Any person desiring to install insulation must be <br />approved by the Fire Marshal of the City of Paris to do <br />so. Any person wishing to appeal a decision of the Fire <br />Marshal with regard to licensing may appeal by requesting <br />a hearing before the City Council of the City of Paris at <br />its next regular scheduled meeting. There shall be no <br />licensing fee requirement. <br />"Section 7 -24. Insulation Permit. <br />Any person licensed to install insulation materials <br />may procure from the Department of Community <br />Development an insulation permit, which will include the <br />following: <br />(1) Location <br />(2) Type and use of structure <br />(3) Type of insulation <br />(4) Amount of insulation" <br />Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" Misdemeanor, and upon <br />conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $200. 00. <br />Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict <br />herewith are hereby expressly repealed. <br />Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective on <br />April 1, 1978. <br />
