ORDINANCE NO. 2385 . A N ORDINA NCE OF THE C ITY OF PA R IS, PA R IS, TEXA S, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 7-37 OF SAID CODE; PRO- VIDING THAT THE FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH AN ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO REMOVE OR REPAIR BUILDINGS DE- CLARED TO BE A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPER- TY OR DILAPIDATED OR DANGEROUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY OR A DANGEROUS STRUCTCTRE TO LIFE AND PROPERTY, WITHIN THE TIME PROVIDED, IS UNLAWFUL; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200. 00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVID- ING FOR AN EFFECTNE DATE OF JUNE l, 1978. BE IT ORDA INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Section 7-37 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 7-37. Penalty. It shall be unlawful for the owner of property to fail to comply with an order of the City Council given pursuant to Section 7-36, within the time specified in such order. It shall be a defense to the violation de - scribed herein that the time given in the order of the City Council has been extended by the City Council. " Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $200. 00, and each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on June l, 1978.
