CITY OF PARIS MAIN STREET PROJECT ADVISORY BOARD <br />Moore Law Firm Conference Room <br />100 North Main Street, Paris, TX <br /> Wednesday, May 9, 2001 <br /> 3:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Minutes based on Agenda <br /> <br />1. Meeting called to order by Maria Pope, Main Street Coordinator <br /> at 3:05 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: Bill Payne, Barbara Wilson, Suzy Harper, and Scott McDowell <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Dwight Chaney, Karen Wilkerson, Anne Wyche, <br />Linda Suarez, Terry Davis, David House <br /> <br /> 2. Discussed Planning Session One <br />Maria reported that planning session one went well and the Board decided <br />not to reorganize the Downtown Association. <br /> <br /> 3. Discussed Main Street Fundraising and Accounting Processes <br />Maria reported and confirmed that if we have an approved fundraising event, <br />Gene Anderson can arrange it so that the funds raised by Main Street-are <br />used for Main Street. <br /> <br /> 4. Discussed TxDot Historical Signs <br />Maria Pope reported that TxDot approved the request for signs outlining the <br />historic district. <br /> <br /> 5. Discussed TxDot Traffic Poles in the Historic District <br />Maria Pope reported that TxDot received requests for options on painting <br />poles and will submit it to their Austin Offices. If options are granted, then it <br />will be submitted to City Officials for a request of approval. <br /> <br /> 6. Discussed Historic Commission and Status of Projects <br />Maria Pope reported project status- The THC submitted two <br />photo/architectural renderings of the old Wise Building and Phil Whitaker's <br />Pawn Shop. It was reported that Ted Brown's building has not been <br />completed. Barbara Wilson requested info on repairing Terra Cotta damage. <br /> <br /> <br />
