DRAFT LISA\RESOLUTIONS\CURRENT\Family Haven Res 2001 June 7, 2001 RESOLUTION NO. _______________ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST TO A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND FAMILY HAVEN CRISIS AND RESOURCE CENTER, INC., TO PROVIDE SERVICES UNDER A CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION GRAN T TO THE CITY OF PARIS TO PREVENT AND PROSECUTE VIOLENT CRIME AGAINST WOMEN; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued a grant award to the City of Paris entitled “Violent Crimes Against Women Unit” Grant, No. WF-99-V30-13420- 03, for the p eriod beginning June 1, 2001, and ending May 31, 2002, in the total amount of $78,594.00, requiring a matching contribution of $26,986.00 in the form of in-kind services on the part of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 11th day of June, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-_____, authorize the acceptance of said grant; and, WHEREAS, as part of the services to be provided un der said grant, the City of Paris has identified the need to contract with Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc., to act as a service provider in aid of the aforesaid Criminal Justice Division Grant No. WF- 99-V30-13420-03, to provide services as specified in sa id proposed contract to women who are the victims of violent crime; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve and authorize the City Manager to enter into the aforesaid contract between the City of Paris and Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, NOW, THEREFORE, Inc. in furtherance of the grant purposes as set out in said agreement; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Manager be, and is hereby, authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest to, a contract between the City of Paris and Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc., a copy of which said contract is attached hereto as Exhibit A and for all purposes incorporated herein, to retain Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc. as a service provider in aid of Criminal
