ORDINANCE NO. 2161 . AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING ARTICLE IV TO CHAPTER 2, PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY COORDINATOR AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF AUGUST 13, 1973. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section l. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by adding Article IV to Chapter 2, to read as follows: "ARTICLE IV. TRAFFIC SAFETY COORDINATOR Section 2 -49. Created. 'Il-iere is hereby created in accordance with Section 25 of the Charter of the City of Paris the Office of Traffic Safety Coordinator, which shall be a staff position, and as such shall report directly to the City Manager. Section 2 50. Responsibilities and Duties. The duties of the Office of Traffic Safety Coordinator shall be as follows: (1) Development and implementation of a public information program (2) Conduct, coordinate and analyze traffic studies, accident reporting and related matters (3) Provide staff support and coordination for the Traffic Commission (4) Assist in the review, development and imple- mentation of the Uniform Traffic Control Manual and other Codes (5) Investigate financial programs for solutions to traffic safety and other related problems (6) Review and evaluate comprehensive traffic safety programs (7) Identify coordination requirements between the several departments of the City of Paris and other governmental entities, in order to provide guidance and assistance in traffic safety re- lated areas (8) Perform other activities as assigned by the City Manager"
