ORDINANCE NO. 2163 , AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1406, A.RTICLE VIII, SECTION 2, OF THE CITY OF PARIS, DECREASING THE SPEED LIMIT FROM 30 MILES PER HOUR TO 25 MILES PER HOUR ON 18TH STREET, N. W., NORTH FROM THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF GRAHAM STREET TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF WEST SHILOH STREET; PROVIDING FOR A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200. 00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PA.RTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1973. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1406, Article VIII, Section 2, of the City of Paris, be amended as follows: Decreasing State Speed Limit in Certain Zone from Thirty (30) Miles Per Hour to 'Ibventy-Five (25) Miles Per Hour. It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic in- vestigation that the speed permitted by State law upon the following street is more than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and signposting of said street, and that by reason of the fact that the area of the street hereinafter described is in the immediate vicinity of a public school and public park area, and the speed is fixed as follows: (a) On 18th Street, N. W. , North from the North Boundary Line of Graham Street to the South oupdar Line of We~~hil, h Stree a speed imit of twenty-five 5~ miqes per ~our. Section 2. That any person violating the provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in a sum not exceeding Two Hundred ($200. 00) Dollars. Section 3. A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on October l, 1973.
