WHEREA.S, the total corporate area of the City of Paris, Paris,
<br />Texas, on the first day of January, 1973, was 12, 251. 6552 acres; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
<br />is in excess of 5, 000 and less than 25, 000 inhabitants; and,
<br />WHEREAS, Tract 1 described above, being wholly owned by the
<br />City of Paris and the State of Texas, lies partially within the extra-
<br />territorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris and partially without and is
<br />used for public purpose, and Tract 2 described above is privately
<br />owned and lies wholly within the extraterritorial j urisdiction of the
<br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and
<br />adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 1548. 12
<br />acres, more or less, 1544. 45 acres of which is owned by the City of
<br />Paris and the State of Texas and is used for a public purpose and
<br />3. 67 acres, which is privately owned, which said 3. 67 acres is less
<br />than ten per cent (1070) of the acreage contained in the corporate
<br />limits of the City of Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />PAR IS:
<br />Section 1. The following described land and territory lying
<br />adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is hereby
<br />added and annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and said terri-
<br />tory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the
<br />boundary limits of the City of Paris, Texas, and the present boundary
<br />limits of said city, at the various points contiguous to the area here -
<br />inafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area
<br />within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit:
<br />TRACT l: Situated in the County of Lamar and State
<br />of Texas, a part of the John W. Williams, John Skidmore,
<br />R. G. Miller, William Scott, and H. B. Davis Surveys, and
<br />described as follows:
<br />BEGINNING at a point 50 feet North of F. M. Highway
<br />No. 1508 C/L Sta. 35+70. 3, and being in the City Limits line
<br />described by City Ordinance No. 2162, dated August 13, 1973;
<br />THENCE N 80 ° 30' E parallel and 50 feet North of said
<br />Highway C/L a distance of 442. 0 feet to a point, said point
<br />being 50 feet North of F. M. Highway No. 1508 C/L Sta.
<br />40+12. 3 and the beginning of a curve to the right, which has
<br />a radius of 5, 779. 65 feet, degree of 0° 59' and intersection
<br />angle of 9 ° 22' ;
<br />THENCE along said F. M. Highway No. 1508 and curve
<br />to the right being 50 feet North of and radial with said C/L a
<br />distance of 944. 84 feet to the end of said curve;
<br />THENCE N 89 ° 52' E a distance of 739. 1 feet to a
<br />point in the East R. O. W. of F. M. Highway No. 1508 and the
<br />West Boundary Line of a tract of land owned by the City of
<br />Paris, Lamar County Records, Volume 208, Page 287, and
<br />known as Cox Field;
