ORDINANCE NO. 2176 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 11-73 AND BY ADDING SECTIONS TO BE NLTMBERED 11 73. l, 11-73. 2 A ND 11-73. 3, AMENDING CERTA.IN SECTIONS OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1971 EDITION; REPEALING A.LL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 14, 1974. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Section 11-73 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Section 11-73. National Electrical Code, 1971 Edition Adopted. For the purpose of practical safeguarding of persons and of buildings and their contents from hazards arising from the use of electricity for light, heat, power, radio, signalling and for other purposes, that certain electrical code known as the National Electrical Code, 1971 edition, published by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted as the minimum standards for the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, save and except such portions as are deleted, modified or amended by this Article, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein. A copy of such Code has been and is now on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the installation of all electri - cal wiring, devices and equipment within the corporate limits of the City of Paris. " Section 2. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris be amended by adding sections to be numbered 11-73. l, 11-73. 2 and 11-73. 3, to read as follows: "Section 11-73. l. Section 210-7 Amended. Section 210 -7 of the Electrical Code adopted by this Article is hereby amended by deleting the last paragraph of the same, beginning with all and ending with 1974. " "Section 11-73. 2. Section 210-22(d) Amended. Section 210-22(d) of the Electrical Code adopted by this Article is hereby deleted. " "Section 11-73.3. Section 305-2. General. (a) (1) Service. Service shall be installed in conformance with Article 230. (2) Temporary Service for Construction Sites. Temporary service for construction sites shall be rain tight panels with breakers. No open type panels with screw in fuses or plug in fuses will be permitted. "
