DRAFT LINDA\RESWORK\CURRENT\Curbs, Getters & Culverts Res June 7, 2001 RESOLUTION NO. _______________ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS , APPROVING A NEW POLICY REGARDING INSPECTION OF AND THE INSTALLATION OF CURB, GUT TER, AND DRIVEWAY CULVERTS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECT DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris has a prior policy dated January 8, 1999 regarding the City’s involvement in the inspection and installation of private curbs, gutters, and driveway culverts; and, WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has reviewed the aforesaid existing policy and has determined that changes are necessary to reflect the City’s primary goal of inspecting said installations rather than being responsible for the actual engineering or design of same; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Director of Public Works and finds and determines implementation of a revised policy for the installation of curbs, gutters, and driveway culverts is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris and best NOW, THEREFORE, serves the public health, safety, and welfare; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That a new policy governing the City’s involvement in the installation of curbs, gutters, and driveway culverts, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and for all purposes incorporated herein, is hereby in all things approved and authorized. Section 3. That the Department of Public Works shall hereafter implement the aforesaid new policy regarding the installation of curbs, gutters, and driveway culverts, and the prior policy regarding same shall be and is hereby in all things rescinded. Section 4. That this resolution shall become effective from and after its date of passage.
