ORDINANC E NO. 2040 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON PRO- PERTY ON U. S. HIGHWAY 271, NORTH, NORTH MAIN STREET, BEGINNING NORTH OF LOOP 286 NORTH, AT U. S. HIGHWAY 271, NORTH, STATION NO. 58, AND PROCEEDING NORTH APPROXIMATELY 1,672 FEET TO THE NORTH CITY LIMIT LINE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF PARIS TO PUBLISH THE SAME THREE (3) TIMES IN THE PARIS NEWS AS REQUIRED BY LAW; APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE FINAL ESTIMATE OF COSTS AND CONSTRUCTION PLANS OF SUCH STREET AND HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS PREPARED BY THE TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AND FURNISHED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF PARIS AND FILED WITH THE CITY COUNCIL; FIXING THE CHARGES TO BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNIIZS AND THE CHARGFS TO BE PAID BY THE CITY OF PARIS; AND WITH THE INTENTION OF FIXING A CHARGE AND LIEN AGAINST THE REAL AND TRUE OWNIIRS OF SAID PROPERTY AND AGAINST THE SAID PROPERTY ITSELF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, hereby finds and determines: 1. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, has heretofore by ordinance duly enacted on the 12th day of July, 1971, determined the necessity for and ordered the improvement of U. S. Highway 271, North Main Street, beginning North of Loop 286 North, at U. S. Highway 271, North, Station No. 58, and proceeding North approximately 1,672 feet to the North City Limit Line of the City of Paris, by co- operating with the Texas Highway Department in the widening and shaping of said public street and high- way, and providing for curb and gutter on each side of said street and highway and providing for storm sewer and paving, and according to the plans and specifications prepared by the Texas Highway Department and furnished to the Department of Public Works of the City of Paris. 2. That a notice duly executed in the name of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, of the enactment of said above described ordinance has heretofore been filed with the County Clerk of Lamar County, Texas, the County in which said City of Paris is situated. 3. That the City Council has caused the Department of Public Works to file estimates of the costs of such improvements and estimates of the amounts per front foot to be assessed against the property abutting said street and highway within the limits defined and the real and true owners thereof. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. The date f or public hearing before the City Council of the abutting property owners on the above described property is hereby fixed at 7:00 o'clock P. M., in the City Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on the 13th day of September, 1971.
