ORDINANCE NO. 1991 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TFXAS, BY REVISING SDCTIONS 22-2 AND 22-31 AND PRO- VIDING FOR THE REPFAL OF SECTIONS 22-4 THROUGH 22-23 OF SAID CODE, AND DBCLARING SAME TO BE NULL AND VOID AND OF NO EFFECT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE TEXAS CONSUMER CREDIT CODE AS IT REGULATFS PAWNBROKERS AND R EQUIRING THE FURNISHING TO THE PARIS POLIC E DEPARTMENT THE TRIPLICATE COPY OF THE PAWN- BROKER TICKET OR CONTRACT; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EX- CEED $200.00; REPFALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFBCTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 1, 1971. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section l. That Section 22-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Section 22-2. Texas Consumer Credit Code adopted. The Texas Consumer Credit Code, as stated in Article 5069, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, and all of the requirements therein relating to the regulation of pawn- bxokers, is adopted." Section 2. That Section 22-3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows : "Section 22-3. Records required. A.ny person engaging in the business of a paym_ broker shall furnish to the Paris Police Department the triplicate copy of the pawnbroker ticket or contract. Pf Section 3. That Sections 22-4 through 22-23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, are hereby repealed and declared null and void and of no effect. Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars. Section 5. All ordinances or parts ot' or dinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
