ARCHITEXAS

Project Profile

Red River County Courthouse
Clarksville, Texas

Client
Red River County

ARCHITEXAS is currently providing preservation and restoration architectural services for the exterior
rehabilitation of the 1884 Red River Courthouse designed by William H. Wilson. Its unique design, a
mixture of Renaissance Revival and Second Empire, makes the Red River Courthouse one of the most
significant courthouses in Texas.

The exterior rehabilitation scope of work includes restoration of the wood windows, cleaning and tuck
pointing of the sandstone, repair/restore cornice and downspouts, new entry doors and frames to match
original design, new stone entry steps and restoration and painting of the clock tower. ARCHITEXAS will
analyze the exterior painted materials to determine original historic paint colors.

Funding for the project is from the ISTEA/STEP program administrated through the Paris office of the
Texas Department of Transportation. All work must comply with the Secretary of Interior's Standard for
Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings.

ARCHIEXAS updated the Historic Structures Report and Master Plan to meet the standards of the
Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program.
