Section 7. That each and every person, firm, or corporation engaging in <br />the business of pawnbroker shall keep a complete set of daily records as furnished <br />by the City of Paris, which shall be written at the time of the taking in pawn of <br />every article, and shall contain a description of the article and the name and <br />address of the person offering such article for pawn and the amount loaned upon <br />such article and the final disposition of each article. <br />Section 8. That all articles taken in pawn by such licensee shall be num- <br />berea or marked in such a manner and in such detail as will make identification <br />of such article clear and positive. <br />Section 9, That the daily records required to be kept by this ordinance <br />shall be prepared in duplicate, and the duplicate or carbon copy of such record <br />shall be furnished upon request to the Police Department of the City of Paris, <br />Texas. <br />Section 10. That the daily record required to be kept by this ordinance <br />shall be open at all times to the examination and inspection of any police officer <br />of the City of Paris, Texas, under the direction of the Chief of Police, and upon <br />demand, the owner, manager, or employee of such business shall point out and <br />identify any article on the premises of the licensee. <br />Section 11. That it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police of the Police <br />Department of the City of Paris to furnish each licensee coming under the provi- <br />sions of this ordinance, with the daily records as described in Section 7 of this <br />ordinance, without cost to the licensee, and if the Chief of Police fails or neg- <br />lects to furnish such licensee with the daily records, no penalty for failure to <br />keep and maintain such daily records shall apply to such licensee, provided, <br />however, that nothing in this section shall exempt the licensee from purchasing <br />the license as required in this ordinance or the penalty provided for the failure <br />to do so. <br />Section 12. That it shall beimlawful and shall constitute a misdemeanor for <br />any person, persons, partnership, firm, or corporation, to violate any provision <br />of this ordinance, and shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more <br />than Two Hundred ($200. 00) Dol}.ars. <br />Section 13. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the <br />provisions of this ordinance are hereby., repealed. <br />Section 14. That if any section, sub-section, word, or phrase of this or- _ <br />dinance shall for any reason be held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such deci- <br />sion shall not affect the remaining portions of this orduance, but such remaining <br />portions shall remain in full force and effect. <br />Section 15.
