the holder thereof to engage in the business of Electrical Contractor for the period <br />of time from the date of issuance to the next June 30th thereafter. Any licensed <br />Electrical Contractor, whose such license is not renewed and extended because of <br />his failure to com-ply with the foregoing requirements relative to the payment of the <br />license fee and posting of surety bond, shall for all purposes thereafter be treated <br />as a new Electrical Contractor and may thereafter be licensed as an E.lectrical <br />Contractor only after full compliance with the requirements relating to application, <br />examination, fee and bond for any such applicant. <br />No license issued in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance shall <br />be transferable. Any holder of a license, who shall permi.t or allow same to be <br />used by any other party to obtain a permi.t to do electrical work as specified in <br />this ordinance, shall be subject to having such license revoked by the Department <br />of Public Works. <br />Section 11, JOURNEYM.SN ELECTRICIAN: REuISTRATION REQUIRED: <br />The term "Journeyman Electrician" as used in this Ordinance is defined to mean <br />and include any person who works for or under the supervision of an Electrical <br />Contractor in installing or repairing electrical wiring, devices andequipment. All <br />Journeymen Electricians before being permitted to do any electrical work in the <br />City of Paris, Texas, shall make application tothe Electrical Inspector for re- <br />gistration as Journeymen Electricians. Such applicants shall be required to <br />appear before the Electrical Board and take an exami.nation as to his experience <br />and ability to do electrical work in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. <br />An applicant shall be required to make a grade of seventy (70) per cent or better, <br />before he sha11 be entitled to registration as a Journeyman Electrician. The Board <br />shall issue to every applicant that passes a satisfactory exam;_nation, a Certificate <br />of Registration as a Jour.neyman Electrician upon payment of a registration fee of <br />Five ($5. 00) Dollars. Such Certificate of Registrationg when issued, shall entitle <br />the holder thereof to do electrical work in the City of Paris as a Journeyman <br />Electrician from the date of the issuance of the same to mi.dnight of the next <br />succeeding June 30th, unless sooner revoked as herein provided, and annually <br />thereafter the same may be renewed and extended for an additional period of one <br />(1) year by such licensee upon payment to the Director of Public Works of the City <br />of Paris of an annual renewal fee of Five ($5. 00) Dollars at any time wi.thin fifteen <br />(15) days after the expiration date. Any registered Journeyman EXectrician, <br />whose Certificate of Registration is not renewed and extended because of his failure <br />to pay the prescribed annual fee within fifteen (15) days after the expiration of the <br />samt:, shalY for all purposes thereafter be treated as a new applicant for a Certifi- <br />cate of Registration and may thereafter be registered as a Journeyman Electrician <br />under this ordinance only after full compliance with the foregoing requirements re- <br />lative to application9 exami.nation and payment of fee. <br />A Journeyman Electrician to qualify for an exami.nation before the Electrical <br />Board must prove that he has had four years actual experience as an apprentice. <br />In the event any applicant fails to pass the examination given by the Board, <br />he shall be entitled to a second examination after the expiration of thirty (30) days, <br />and should he fail on the second exam;.nation, a third exami.nation shall not be had <br />until the expiration of two (2) months from the date of the last examination, <br />The Inspector slall be empowered to issue a temporary permit to a <br />Journeyman Electrician upon the payment of Five ($5. 00) Dollars fee, and said <br />Qermit shall be good until the first meeting of the Board. <br />Nothing in this Section shall be construed to prohibit the employment of <br />apprentices or helpers working under the supervision of a registered Electrician. <br />
