1595 ORD FIXING TAX RATE AND TAX LEVY AND LEVYING AD VALOREM TAXES FOR COP FOR 1962

5 ection 2. There is also levied and ordered to be collected against each and every person, firm or corporation pursuing an occupation within the corporate li.mits of the City of Pa ris, except where levy of same is expressly forbidden by general law, an occupation tax and license tax equal to one-half (1/2) of that levied by the State cf Texas against such occupation. This provision applies to each anri every occupation upon which the Sta,te of Texas levies a ta.x and fixes a license fee and only to such occupations. 5ection 3. The City Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of Paris is hereby directed to assess, extend and enter upon the tax rolls of the City of Paris, Texas, for the current taxable year, the amounts and ra tes here - in levied and to keep a correct account of same, and the ta.xes herein levied shall be collected as provided by the ordinances and the Charter of the City of Paris, Texas, and the laws of the Sta.te of Texas; and when so collected, same shall be deposited in the depository of the City of Pa.ris to be distri- buted in accordance with ordinance. Section 4. Current ad va.lorem taxes for the year 1962, paid on or prior to December 31, 1962, ahall be subject to discounts as follows: Three per cent i.f paid on or before October 31, 1962; Two per cent if paid after Oetober 31, 1962, and on or before November 30, 1962; One per cent if paid after November 30, 196 2, and on or before December 31, 1962. S ection 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. This ordinance shall be and remain in full force a nd e£fect from and afte r its passage and approval by the City Council of the City of Pa.ris. Read, approved and passed this the 9th day of July, A.
