ORDINANCE N0. 1421 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE WRITTEN STATEMENT AND REPORT
<br />OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, SHOWING THE ESTIMATES OF THE TOTAL COSTS OF
<br />ALL THE IMPROVEMEIVTS, THE ESTIMATES OF THE COSTS PEH FRONT FOOT PROF'05ED TO
<br />BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY AND THE REAL AtsID TRUE OWNERS
<br />THEREOF, AND THE ESTIMATES OF VARIOUS OTHER COSTS FOR THE IMIPROVING OF 30TH
<br />STREET, N. W., FRO M THE NORTH CURB LINE OF BONHAM STREET TO THE 90UTH CURB
<br />LINE OF GRAHAM STREET, IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, WITHIN THE LIAUTS HEREIN-
<br />BELOW DESCRIBED AND OF OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO; DETERMINING AND FIXING
<br />THE PORTION OF SAID OOSTS PROPOSED TO BE ASSESSED AGAINST AND PAID BY SAID
<br />ABiJTTING PROPERTY AND THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS THEF3EOF, AA1D THE PORTION OF
<br />SAID COSTS PAOPOSED IO BE PAID BY THE CITY OF PARIS; DETERMINING THE NE-
<br />CESSITY 0 F LEVYING SUCH ASSESSIVENTS FOR THE PART OF SAID COSTS APPORTIONED
<br />AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTIES AND THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS THEREOF; ORDER-
<br />ING AAJD SETTING A HEARING OF THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS OF SAID ABUTTING PRO-
<br />PERTY, AND ALL OTHERS INTERESTED IN SAID ABUTTING PRO PERTY OR IN THE PRO-
<br />CEEDINGS AND CONTRACT OONCERNING SAID ASSESSMENTS, PROCEEDINGS, AND IMPROVE-
<br />MENTS; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF PARIS TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID
<br />HEARING AS REQUIRED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER OF SAID
<br />CITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />BE IT ORDAIAIED BY THE CITY ODUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS:
<br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, hereby
<br />finds and determines:
<br />(a) That the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, has
<br />heretofore by ordinance duly enacted on the llth day of March, A. D.,
<br />1957, determined the necessity for and ordered the improvement of por-
<br />tions of 30th Street, N. W., from the North Curb Line of Bonham Street to
<br />the South Curb Line of Graham Street, within the limits hereinafter de-
<br />fined, in the manner and according to the plans and specifications therefor,
<br />which plans and specifications have heretofore been approved and adopted by
<br />said City Council. Said street and portions thereof to be improved are as
<br />follows, to-wit:
<br />(1) 30th Street, N. W., from the North Curb Line of Bonham
<br />Street to the Sovth Curb Line of Graham Street
<br />(b) That a notice duly executed in the name of the City of Paris,
<br />Texas, of the enactment of said above described ordinance has heretofore been
<br />filed with the County Clerk of Lamar County, Texas, the county in which said
<br />City of Paris is situated.
<br />(c) That said City Council after having duly advertised for bids in
<br />the manner as required by law and the Charter of said City, did award the
<br />contract for the construction of said improvecnents to Roy L. Wi.lliamson upon
<br />its lowest and best bid, and said contract, which is dated the 22nd day of
<br />August, A. D., 1957, has been executed by said bidder and by said City, the
<br />execution of which said contract by the City was authorized by resolution
<br />heretofore passed by said City Council; and the performance bond r@quired by
<br />law and said contract has becn properly fiarnished by said bidder, and approved
<br />by and accepted by the City Council, all as required by law and the Charter of
<br />said City.
<br />(d) That the City Council has caused the Acting Director of Public
<br />Works to prepare and file estimates of the costs of such improvements and es-
<br />timates of the amount per front foot to be assessed against the pxoperty
<br />abutting said street within the limits defined and the real and true owners
<br />thereof; and the Acting Director of Public Works has heretofore filed said
<br />estimates and a statement of other matters relating thereto with said City
<br />Council, and the same has been received, examined, and approved by said City
<br />Council.
<br />Section 2. The written statement and the report of the Acting
<br />Director of Public Works heretofore filed with the City Council, showing the
<br />estimated total costs of all the improvements on said street within the limits
<br />above defined, showing the amonnts per front foot proposed to be assessed
<br />against the abutting property and the real and true owners thereof on said
<br />street for said improvements, showing the total estimated costs of said im-
<br />provements on said street proposed to be assessed against and paid by the
<br />
