<br />RESOLUTION NO.
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE REGIONAL CONTROLLED
<br />SUBSTANCE APPREHENSION PROGRAM GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE
<br />EXECUTION OF GRANTEE ACCEPTANCE NOTICE; MAKING OTHER
<br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
<br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 1 lth day of
<br />December, 2000, in Resolution No. 2000-165, authorize an application to be made to the Office
<br />of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for the Texas Narcotics Control Program (TNCP)
<br />grant; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued its Grant
<br />Award entitled "Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)" Grant,
<br />No. DB-01-A 10-13854-03, for the period beginning June 1,2001, and ending May 31, 2002, in
<br />the total amount of $388,471.00, requiring a matching contribution of $129,490.00 in the form
<br />of cash; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to suppress drug activity in and around the City
<br />of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,

<br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That the Texas Narcotics Control Program Grant entitled "Regional
<br />Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)" Grant, No. DB-01-A 10-13854-03,
<br />for the period beginning June 1, 2001, and ending May 31, 2002, in the total amount of
<br />$388,471.00, requiring a matching contribution of $129,490.00 in the form of cash, be, and the
<br />same is hereby, accepted.
<br />
<br /> Section 3. That the City Manager, the Chief of Police, and the Finance Director be, and
<br />they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee
<br />Acceptance Notice, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached
<br />hereto.
