the question as to whether such contract should be entered into <br />or as to whether such time warrants in payment therefor and for <br />such indebtedness owing to Ross N~achinery Company of Dallas, <br />Texas, should be issued has been filed by the qualified voters <br />of said City as provided by law; NOVd, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CAUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br />1. I'hat the City of Paris, Texas make and enter into a <br />contract with Lone Star Steel Company, the lowest responsible <br />bidder for the purchase and delivery of the following cast iron <br />water pipe in accordance with the detailed plans, specifications, <br />instructions and terms of delivery as prepared by the City En- <br />gineer of the City of Paris and now on file in his office at a <br />total contract price of $13,409.61 , it appearing to the <br />City Council that such contract price represents and is the <br />lowest and best bid received by the City of Paris pursuant to <br />such Resolution No. 590, adopted June 13, 1955, such cast iron <br />pipe being as follows: <br />36 linear feet of 12-inch cast iron <br />pipe @ $3.64 per foot $ 131.04 <br />1,630 linear feet of 10-inch cast iron <br />pipe @ $2.77 per foot 49515.10 <br />54 linear feet of 8-inch cast iron <br />pipe Co., $2.13 per foot 115,02 <br />5,988 linear feet of 6-inch cast iron <br />pipe @ $1.49 per foot 8.922.12 <br />TOTAL $139683.28 <br />LESS 2;~ DISCOUNT 273.67 <br />NET CONTRACT PRICE $13,409.61 <br />That the City of Paris, Texas make and enter into a contract <br />with W. S. Dickey Company of Texarkana, Texas, the lowest responsi- <br />ble bidder for the purchase and delivery of the following vitrified <br />clay sanitary sewer pipe in accordance with the detailed plans, <br />specifications) instructions and terms of delivery as prepared by <br />the City gncineer of the City of Paris and now on file in his office <br />at a total contract price of $ 6,960.44 , it appearing to the <br />City Council that such contract price represents and is the lowest <br />and best bid received by the City of Paris pursuant to such Resolu- <br />tion No. 590~ adopted June 13, 1955, such vitrified clay sanitary <br />sewer pipe being as follows: <br />12,000 linear feet of 6-inch pipe @ <br />$0.377 per foot $ 49524.00 <br />2,070 linear feet of 8-inch pipe 0 <br />$0.442 per foot 914.94 <br />1,239 linear feet of 10-inch pipe <br />L& $0.626 per foot 775.61 <br />991 linear feet of 12-inch pipe <br />$0.896 per foot _ 887.94 <br />TCTAL $7,102.49 <br />LE5S 2~ DISCOUNT 142.05 <br />NET CONTRACT PRICE $6,960.44 <br />
