ORDINANCE NU. 1391 <br />. <br />AiJ ORDINANC'i, AP7ENDING SECTION #l, OF ORDINANCE N0. <br />1271 OF' THE SCHEDULE GF RATES FOR i;.ESIDEPITIAL ATdD C011PIMERCIAL <br />FtATES TO BE CHARGED BY LONi; STAR GAS COMIPANY, AND AMENDING <br />SAID SECTION #11 0F ORDINANCE N0. 1271 WHICH 'vVAS APPRUVED BY <br />THE CITY COUNCIL Or THL CITY OF PARIS ON OCTGBiIZ 13, 1952. <br />THAT uJIIEREAS, The Lone Star Gas Company was hereto- <br />fore granted a franchise, and a Schedule of Rates was here- <br />tofore on October 13, 1952 approved by the City Council of <br />the Cit,y of Paris; and, <br />'WHER.LAS, said Schedule of Rates as shown in Section <br />#1, of Grdinance No. 1271 did not provicte for any charge for <br />inaugurating or reinaugurating gas service; and, <br />M-iEREAS, The Lone Star Gas Company has heretofore <br />requested that such Section #1, of Ordinance No. 1271 be <br />amended to provide for such inauguration or reinauguration <br />of gas service to residential and comrnercial custome.rs; and, <br />inTHEREAS, same has been heard by the City Council on <br />several occasions heretoiore, and the matter has bezn <br />thoroughly investigated bjT the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />B'U IT ORD1IINED 3Y THE CIiY COUPICIL 0F THE CITY OF PARIS: <br />That Section #1, of Urdinance No. 1271 of rates for <br />residential and commercial users of gas, as approved by the <br />City Council of the City o:f Paris on Gctober 13, 1952, be, <br />and the same is hereby amend.ed as follows: <br />That the Lone Star Gas Company be, and the same is <br />hereby permitted to make a charge not to exceed the sum of <br />One Dollar (41.00) per cUStomer for inaugurating or re- <br />inalzgurating gas services, except in cases as hereinaFter <br />prcvided; <br />That inauguration or reinauguration of service py <br />the coripanV shall, for the purposes of this ordinance, be <br />deemed to mean the unsealing of a sealed meter or installa- <br />tion of a new meter and turninb on of natural gas. <br />That the following classes of customers shall be <br />exempt frorri the payment of inauguration or reinauburation <br />oi the service charge herein provided: <br />l. Customer who has been removed from the <br />accounting records of Lone Star Gas <br />Cornpany as a custemer fcr a period of <br />more than twelve (12) months. <br />2. Churches, schools, and governmental <br />customers. <br />3. Customers whose service has peen <br />interrupted by a d.isaster or catas- <br />trophe, including fire, or acts of God. <br />4. New customers added to the Lone Star <br />ixas Company System in Paris, Texas. <br />5• Builders receiving service while building <br />is under construction. <br />
