<br />RESOLUTION NO.
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION
<br />AUTHORITY FUND GRANT AWARD; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
<br />OF THE GRANTEE ACCEPTANCE NOTICE; MAKING OTHER
<br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
<br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of May,
<br />2001, in Resolution No. 2001-051, authorize an application to the Texas Automobile Theft
<br />Prevention Authority for an Automobile Theft Prevemion Grant; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Texas Amomobile Theft Prevention Authority has issued its Gram Award
<br />emitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft Task Force," No. SA-T01-10062-02, for the year
<br />beginning September 1, 2001, and ending August 31, 2002, in the total amoum of $102,826.00,
<br />requiring the City of Paris to provide $47,276.00 in the form of cash and $12,550.00 in the form
<br />of in-kind services; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on July 17, 2001; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best imerests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to improve the Automobile Theft Prevention
<br />Program in the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That the Automobile Theft Prevention Program Grant emitled "Northeast
<br />Texas Automobile Theft Task Force,' No. SA-T01-10062-02, for the year beginning September
<br />1, 2001, and ending August 31, 2002, in the total amount of $102,826.00, requiring the City of
<br />Paris to provide $47,276.00 in the form of cash and $12,550.00 in the form of in-kind services,
<br />be, and the same is hereby, accepted.

<br /> Section 3. That the City Manager, the Chief of Police, and the Finance Director be, and
<br />they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee
<br />
