Section 2. There is also levied and ordered to be collected <br />against each and every person, firrn or corporation pursuing an occupation <br />within the corporate lilnits of the City of Paris, e;tcept where levy of <br />same is expressly foraidden by general law, an occupation tax and license <br />tax equal to orie-half (1/2) of trat levied by the State of Texas against <br />sucYi occupation. It is understood that this provision applies to each and <br />every oceupation upon which the State of Texas levies a tax and fixes a <br />license fee and only to such occupationso <br />Section 3. The City Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of ? aris <br />is hereby directed to assess, extend and enter upon the tax ralls of the <br />City of Paris, Texas, for the currerit taxa.ble 3Tear, tne araounts axid rates <br />herein levied and to keep a correct account of same, and the taxes herein <br />levied shall be collected as provided by the Charter of the City of PaxTi.s, <br />Texas) and the laws of the State of Texas; and when so collected, s ame shall <br />oe deposited in the depository of the City of Paris to be distributed in ac- <br />cordance with ordir.ance. <br />Sectian 4. Discounts for the papment of ad va].orem taxes due the City <br />of Paris for the year 1949, shall. be allowed upon the follovzing conditions: <br />(a) Three per cent (3%) discaunt on ad valoreni taxes due for the year <br />1949, shall be allowed if su.ch taxes are paid in the month of October, 1949. <br />(b) Two ner cent (2°,f) discount on ad valorem taxes d.ue for the year <br />1949 shall be allotived if such taxes are paid in the month of Novemberp 1949. <br />(c) One per cent (l;?) discount on ad valorern taxes due for the year <br />191+9, shall be allowed if such taxes are paid in the month of December, 1949a <br />Section 5, All ordinances and parts of ordirlances in conf]_ict herewith <br />are hereby expressly repealed. <br />This ordirance shall be and reraain in full force and effect from and <br />after its nassage and approval by the City Council of the City of Paris. <br />Read, approved and passed this the llth day of August,, 1949. <br />ATTEST: <br />City lerk <br />Rdayor <br />
