~ <br />w' <br />~~il krr ry.~, - <br />..,~-7 ~ f V / <br />AN ORDINAI+TCE REGUL~iTING T USEO HANDLINGO <br />TRANSPORTATION AA;;D STORAGE OF ANY FOR.M GF <br />AtANi7FACTUftED OR, LIQUIFIED F~.TROLEIJY, GASES; <br />FIX:ING INSPECTIUN F"'ES., PROVIDING A PEIVALTY <br />FOR VIOLATIONS, aND DECLARING AN EuFRGr;NCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TuXAS: <br />SECTION l: That all persons,, firnâ–şsp or corporations who ma~p., from and <br />after the effective date of this orcLinance, install or equip any residence, busi- <br />ness house., apartment house, or any other building located and sitnated within <br />the corporate limits of the city of Paris, with any installation or equipment de- <br />signed to use as a fuel any form of manufactured or liquified patroleum gases, <br />shall use in any such installation,, whether for domestic or industrial use., only <br />a standard grade of pipe or piping,and all appliances used in connection with any <br />such i.nstallation shall be a standsrd grade and type of equipment. Any system <br />which uses any form of manufactured or liquified petroleum gasses must bear the <br />label of approval or listing of the Underwriter's Laboratories. The storage of <br />any liquified petroleum.gases in any individual customer size container) either <br />above ground or underground, is prohibited inside of or underneath any building <br />in the corporate li.rnits; and no equipment using liquified petroleum gases shall <br />be permitted within the fire limits; and no equipment used for the purpose of <br />storing wholesale quantities of such gases shall be permitted within the corporate <br />limits of the kity. <br />SECTION 2: ihe term "Standard Grade" as used herein shall mean that grade <br />of article which is accepted by dealers in such equipment and recognized as comply- <br />ing with all fire law regulationso <br />SECTION 3: Any such equipment as provided for shall be installed, or re- <br />paired, in a workmanlike manner which shall comply with all laws and the regula- <br />tions of the City., the regulatYOns of the T3ational Board of Fire Underwriters and <br />the regulations recommnded by the National Fire Protection association. <br />SECTICN' 4: 'Nhen any such equipment is installed as herein provided, s ame <br />shall not be placed in operation or used, unless and until said installation has <br />been approved, as complying with this ordinance, by the City of Paris. <br />SECTIGN 5: Any person, firm or corporation installing any such equipment, <br />as herein provided/ shall secure the approval of same as complying with the re- <br />quirements of this ordi.nance by theCity dt ZPrt/LtiJ , as herein provided <br />for, and shall., upon requesting such inspection for approval, pay an inspection <br />fee of <~;1.00, for each piece of equipment, to cover cost of inspection. <br />SECTION 6: P-l]. tank trucks and tank trailers used for the transport,ation <br />of liquified petroleum gas(:s wit'rLin #F1-e City shall be so constructed and operated <br />as to comply with the regulations for the designp construction and operation of <br />autompbile tank trucks and tank trailers for the transportation of liquified petro- <br />leum gases as approved by the National Board of Fire Underwriters and the National <br />Fire P rotection Associatian. Any person, firm or corporatian who shall operate or <br />cause to be operated any tank truck or tank trailer used for the purpose of trans- <br />porting liquified petrolecun gas within the corporate lirai.ts of the City shall keep <br />any such equipment in good condition at all times, and upon the development of any <br />defect that would create a hazard to persons or property, said taric truck or tank <br />trailer shall be re,moved from the streets of the City until such defects have been <br />repaired or f aulty equipment replaeed; and any such tank trucks and tank trailers <br />sha11 be subject to inspection by the proper authorities at any time. IuTo such tank <br />truck or tank, trailer shall be parked, stored or operated upon any street within the <br />fire linLits; nor sha11 they be stored or repaired inside o2 autside of any buiZding <br />within the firF: linLits as defined 'oy ordiilance. <br />xv <br />q <br />J <br /> <br />H <br />SECTION 7: All liquified petroletiul gas sold vuith.in the City shall be <br />treated with a rna]_odorant in such quantities as required by State law to create an <br />oder easil.y detected in case of leaks in piping or equipment. <br />
