The sanitary policeman is hereby declared to be in- <br />,;pector of meats, and he shall, in addition to duties heretofore re- <br />quired of him, inspect all places where fresh meats or fish are <br />sold, and inspect the meat and fish offered for sale and see that <br />such meat and fìsh is pure and wholesome and fit for food, and <br />see that all places where such fresh meat and fish are kept are clean <br />and in a healthy and good sanitary condition, and whenever in his <br />judgment any meat or fish offered for sale or kept stored in any <br />place from which fresh meats and fish are sold is unwholesome <br />and unfit for for food, he shall notify the owner or person in charge <br />to remove the same and prohibit its sale for food. He shall make <br />such inspections daily, and whenever directed by the mayor, city <br />physician, or any member of the sanitary committee, and he shall <br />immediately rcport all violations of this ordinance coming to his <br />knowledge and see that the offender is prosecuted. <br />SEC. [3. Any merchant paying an occupation tax as such <br />may sell fresh fish from his place of busincss on the payment of <br />- ,dollars tax per quarter in advancc. <br />SEC. 14. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflic t <br />with this ordinance are hereby repealed, and that this ordinance <br />take effect and be in force from and after its passage and ten days <br />publication. <br />Adopted Nov. 25, I889, approved Nov. 25, 1889' <br />Attest, M.
