Focus SESSION IsstrE: Social Services <br />CHARRETTE RESPONSES: <br />Provide programs for the elderly. <br />➢ Create transportation programs. <br />➢ Provide funding alternative to the elderly for home repairs/maintenance. <br />➢ Provide education on energy efficiency and encourage energy efficient housing for <br />the elderly. <br />Utilize community facilities and assets to assist parents with childcare. <br />➢ Utilize school facilities for day care. <br />➢ Provide day care training at local training centers. <br />➢ Work with elderly to provide childcare services. <br />Hold "Town Hall" meetings to address community issues such as substance abuse, <br />crime, teen issues, etc. <br />3. Focus SESSION IsstE: Youth Services <br />CHARRETTE RESPONSES: <br />Improve/expand existing parks and recreation facilities. <br />➢ Strive to continue distributing park land and facilities throughout all of Paris <br />➢ Support Dragon Park expansion <br />➢ Develop a soccer park inside Dragon Park <br />➢ Expand West Parks <br />➢ Upgrade Walker Park (all ages) <br />➢ Construct bike trails and improve sidewalks to federal TEA-21 design standards. <br />4. FOCUS SESSION ISStTE: Employment Opportunities <br />CHARRETTE RESPONSES: <br />Maintain small business as backbone of the community. <br />➢ Provide incentives for small business development and expansion (similar to large <br />industry). <br />5.
