RESOLUTION NO. 2112 . <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of <br />promoting entertainment activity for its citizens and its trade area <br />with a radius of approximately fifty miles; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris would welcome the opportunity to <br />become the annual season opening site for The Dallas Cowboys <br />Basketball Team called the "Dallas Hoopsters"; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That it expresses its appreciation to the "Dallas Hoopsters" <br />for the charity benefit basketball game performed for <br />B.ig Brothers/Big Sisters of Lamar County on February 21, 1981; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That special appreciation is <br />given to Drew Pearson and Jay Saldi for their committment to open <br />the "Dallas Hoopsters" 1982 season in Paris, Texas; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Council of the <br />City of Paris solicits a committment from the "Dallas Hoopsters" to <br />open their basketball season in Paris annually. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of June, 1981. <br />Bill Burnett, Mayor <br />A TTEST: <br />i e. <br />H.
