RESOLUTION N0. 2123 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City cr Paris did <br />heretofore receive a request for a pro-rata sewer service <br />extension to the area adjacent to West Campbell Street, <br />beginning at 30th Street, N.W., West approximately 430 <br />feet; and, <br />WHEREAS, unon the receipt of the same preliminary <br />nlans, specifica.tions and estir.iate of the total cost of <br />the project were prepared and delivered to the City Manager <br />and considered at the regular Council Meeting on the 14th <br />day of Septern.ber, 1981, and a public hearing concerning the <br />same was set for and held on the 12th day of October, 1981; <br />an3, <br />WHEREAS, after hearing the matters presented at the <br />public hearing tne City Council is of tize opinion that it <br />is in the best interest of the citizens of Paris and <br />particularly the citizens in the vicinity of the proposed <br />project that the City of Paris act as sponsor for said <br />project, which is necessary for the protection of health <br />and welfare in this undeveloped area; and, <br />WHEREAS, due to the extraordinary width of the four <br />(4) lots fronting on the proposed sewer line, it would be <br />proper for the City of Paris to absorb fif ty percent (50%) <br />of tize total cost of such extension and the remaining fifty <br />percent (50°%) to be distributed in accordance with the pro- <br />rata front foot plan; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the West Campbell Street sanitary sewer ex- <br />tension, being from 30th Street, N. W., West approximately <br />430 feet, with the Water and 9ewer Fund of the City of Paris <br />absorbing fifty percent (50%) of the extension costs with <br />the remaining fifty percent (50%) being distributed in <br />accordance with the pro-rata front foot plan, be, and the <br />same is hereby approved; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager <br />Rob-ert W. Sokoll, be, and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to proceed with said project and that a pro-rata <br />contract is waived with regard to this project, but upon <br />completion of the project the actual costs of said project <br />shall be fixed and the price per foot established for the <br />purpose of the charging of the pro-rata charges to property <br />owners adjacent to and benefitting from the same and the <br />amounts to be collected in the event of connection to the <br />line so constructed. <br />Passed and adopted this 12th day of October, 1981. <br />ATTEST: Bi y urnett, Mayor <br />c <br />- <br />H. .
