RESOLL'TICiV N0. 2126 <br />WHLREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris and <br />the Commissioners Court of Lamar County, under the power <br />granted in Article 4436a-1 of Vernon's Annotated Civil <br />Statutes, established the Paris-Lar.mar County Health Unit, <br />which Unit is under the direction and supervision of the <br />City-County Board of Health; and, <br />WHEREAS, said City Council and Commissioners Court <br />have jointly apgointed Joe Hillhouse acting director of <br />said Health Unit; which appointment was made subject to <br />the approval of t:ze City-County Board of Health, which <br />has been given; and, <br />WHLREAS, said Acting Director renlaces and performs <br />the duties of a cour.ty health off icer and a city health <br />officer, neither oL ~-,';iich may be so appointed while such <br />joint health unit is -n existence; and, <br />I <br />vTHEREAS, under Section 5 of said Article 4436a-1, <br />the City Council and the Commissioners Court are empowered <br />to fix the salaries of eniployees of such joint health unit, <br />anci, prior to changing any such salary, t'ie City Council <br />and the Commissioners Court shall request recommendatiorLs <br />from the City-County Boa.rd of Health; and, <br />tiaHEREAS, the salary of the Acting-, Director of the <br />Paris-Lamar County Health Unit is being considered by the <br />Commissioners Court and the City Council, and the recom- <br />mendations oi the City-County Health Board having been <br />received with regard to the same, it is deemed appropriate <br />that an eMployment contract between said City and County <br />and Joe Hillhouse be authorized, drawn and executed; and, <br />T <br />~~T"tIEREAS, such contract is recommended in the form <br />of Exiiibit A attached hereto • NOW THEREFORE <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE <br />PARIS AND THE COMMISSIONERS <br />Joe Hillhouse, be, and he i <br />Director of the Paris-Lamar <br />terr.is and conditions stated <br />and, <br />CITY COL'NCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COURT OF L_AMAR COUNTY, That <br />s hereby reappointed Acting <br />County Health Unit upon the <br />in Exhibit A attached hereto; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City <br />of Paris and the County Judge, be, and they are hereby <br />authorized and directed to execute such agreement on be- <br />half of the City of Paris and the County of Lamar, re- <br />snectively. <br />Passed and adopted this 22nc1day of October, 1981. <br />ATTESi': Bi e Burnett, Mayor <br />H.
