RESOLUTION N0. 2150 <br />WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division of tne State <br />of Texas has funding available for police equipment; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Paris Police Department is in need of <br />a polygraph instrument in order to conserve police officer's <br />time since the nearest polygraph machine is 100 miles from <br />Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has been encouraged by the <br />Ark-Tex Council of Government to submit an application for <br />funding of a polygraph instrument at a total project cost <br />of $5,000.00. Three Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars <br />($3,750.00) to be provided by grant and $1,250.00 to be <br />provided by local funds; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br />l. That an application be made to the Criminal Justice <br />Division of the State of Texas for a grant in the amount of <br />$3,750.00, being 75 percent of the total cost of a polygraph <br />machine to serve the City of Paris and its Police Department, <br />and other law enforcement agencies in the western part of <br />Ark-Tex Council of Government's region. <br />2. That Robert W. Sokoll, City Manager of the City of <br />Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and he is hereby designated <br />Certifying Representative and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed,on behalf of the City of Paris,to execute and file <br />the application in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br />3. That Charles Whitley, Chief, Paris Police Department, <br />be, and he is hereby designated Project Director and Contact <br />Person to execute and deliver all other communications, in- <br />struments, assurances and documents necessary for the com- <br />gletion of said project. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of March, 1982. <br />"n;dz 4!t~ <br />Bi e Burnett, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />H.
