The grantee must comply with the <br />provisions and requirements of fiitle VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and regulations issued by ihe Department of Justice and the <br />~ Law Entorcement Assistance Administration thereunder as a condition of award of Federal funds and continued grant support. The <br />gtantee further must comply with the Justice DepartMent equal ~employment opportunity regulations in federally-assisted <br />progxams, to the end that discrimination in employment practices of State planning agencies, law enforcement agencies ar oiCces <br />administering, conducting or participating in any program or aetivity receiving Federal financial assistance, on the ;round of race, <br />~ religion, color, sex oz national origin, is prohibited (28 C.F.R. 842.101, el Seq.). This grant condition shali not be interpreted to <br />~ require the imposition in State plans or planning agency subgrant programs of any perceniage ratio, quota system, or other pro;ram <br />to achieve racial balance or eliminate racial imbalance in a law enforcement agency. The United States reserves the right to seek <br />judicial enforcement of this condition. <br />
