RESOLUTION N0. 2190 <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris did by <br />letter dated March 16, 1982, assure the management of <br />an industrial prospect whose name was unknown at that <br />time that in the event that such concern located ad- <br />jacent to the city limits of the City of Paris that <br />such plant would not be annexed; and, <br />WHEREAS, Kimberly Clark has in relience upon said <br />letter made the decision to located in the Southwest <br />industrial area just outside the city limits; and, <br />WHEREAS,it is fitting and proper that this City <br />Council assure this concern that it intends to honor <br />the letter earlier transmitted; and, <br />WHEREAS, it seems to be in the best interest of <br />the City Council of the City of Paris and its credibility <br />that future councils be encouraged to honor the statement <br />made in the above described letter of March 16, 1982; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That Kimberly Clark Corporation, be, and the <br />same is hereby assured that the current City Council <br />of the City of Paris does hereby give its assurances <br />that the Mayor of the City of Paris' letter of March 16, <br />1982 addressed to Robert Thompson of The Fantus Company <br />will in all things be upheld; and, <br />BE IT FUP.THER RESOLVED that consistent with the letter <br />of March 16, 1982 the City of Paris agrees not to annex <br />the property adjacent to the City of Paris being purchased <br />by Kimberly Clark Corporation for a period of seven years <br />from the beginning of production of its products on said <br />property; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that future City Councils <br />are encouraged to uphold the integrity of the City Council <br />i.n office on March 16, 1982, by honoring the letter above <br />described and attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Passed and adopted this 19th day of July, 1982. <br />OWA" <br />J e Graham, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />~ <br />H.
