RESOLUTION N0. 2099 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is <br />vitally interested and is committed to maintaining an <br />environment as nearly hazard free as practicable; and, <br />WHEREAS, there has been a proposal by Chem-Security <br />Systems of South Carolina to locate a chemical waste dis- <br />posal facility near Cunningham, Texas, in the Sulphur River <br />water shed; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of <br />the citizens of Paris and its trade area, with an approxi- <br />mate radius of 50 miles, that such waste facility not be <br />permitted to so locate; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the record should reflect that the City of Paris <br />opposes the location of a chemical waste disposal facility <br />in the vicinity of Cunningham, Texas, as proposed by Chem- <br />Security Systems of South Carolina; and, <br />BE IT rURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the <br />City of Paris, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed <br />to transmit copies of this resolution to our Congressman, <br />Senators, and Representatives, and to appropriate agencies <br />of Federal and State government. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of June, 1981. <br />Bill e Burnett, Mayor <br />A1'TLST : <br />H.
