TECHNICAL SFECIFICATIONS <br />FOR <br />FIBERGLASS FUEL STOf2AGE TANK <br />PART I GENEf2AL <br />1.01 RELATED FdQRK <br />A. Cast-in-place, 3000 P.S.I. 12-inch Concrete Floor. <br />B. Eye - Bolts shall be 12-inch with 6-inch in concrete, see Plan. <br />C. Other related work - excavation, ballast material, backfill, <br />steel pipe outlets for vent, filler and dispersing system. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Acceptahle Manufacturers: Owens-Corning "Fiberglas" or like <br />items. <br />B. Governing Standards: <br />1. Proposed ASTM Standard Draft No. ld, dated September 15, 1977. <br />2. Underwriters I,aboratories, Tr,c. (U.L. ) <br />File M H 7991 dated October 13, 1965. <br />For storage of flammable liquids as updated under U.L. <br />Follow-up Service in letter of January 15, 1976. <br />3. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 30) Flammable and <br />Combustible Liquids Code and (NFPA 31) Standard for In- <br />stallation of oil burning eguipment. <br />PART II PRODUCTS <br />2.01 Fiberglass-reinforced polyester underground storage tank. <br />A. Loading Conditions - Tank shall meet the following design criteria: <br />1. External hydrostatic pressure: Buried in ground with 3" of <br />overburden over top of tank, or as shown on Plans. The hole <br />fully flooded and a safety factor of 2:1 against general <br />buckling. <br />2. Internal Loads: Tank shall withstand 3-5 P.S.I. Air Pressure <br />Test with a 5 to 1 safety facter.. Test prior to installation, <br />Since the design conditions to t.est for leakage. <br />3. Tank shall be designed to snpport accessory equipment such as <br />Urap Tubes etc. when installed according to manufacturer's <br />r.ecommendations. <br />TS-1 <br />
