Civil Rights <br />The con[ractor is requlred to comply with regulatior,s issued <br />pursuant to the Civil Fights Act ef 1964 with respect to non- <br />discrimination in t'ederally assisted progrlLls of the Department of <br />Interior. <br />T}ie following provisions known as [he EQU:1L Oi'YOR1't1NITY CI.AUSE <br />are to be incorporatcd verbatim in each contract. <br />"D"rlnk the performznce of [his contract, the conti-accor agrees <br />as follows; <br />The contractor will not discrimirlate against any employee <br />or applicant for employment because of racc, creed, color, <br />or national origin. The cuntrzctor wi11 take affirn:ative <br />:action to ensure tha[ applicants are employed, and that <br />emPloyees are trtated during employ~nent, without regard to <br />their race, creed, color, or natiotial origin. Such action <br />shall include, but not Ue limited to, the follo,,,ing: <br />employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer: recruitment <br />or recruitment advertising; layoff or termination; ra[es <br />of pay or other forr.is of compensltion; nnd selection of <br />training, including apprenticeship. The contractor agrees <br />[o post irl conspicious places, available to e;nployees and <br />applican[s for employment, noCices to be provided by the <br />contracting ofticer se[ting forth the provi;;ions of the <br />nondiscrimination clause. <br />"(2) The contractor will, in all solicitations or advertisements <br />for employees placed by or un behrilf of the contractor, <br />state tha[ all qualified applicants wi].1 receive considerations <br />for employment without reFard to race, creed, color, or <br />national origin. <br />"(3) Tlie con[ractor wi11 sencl to eacli labor union or represent- <br />ative of workc:rs with k•hich he hzs a collective bargaining <br />agreement or o[her contrac[ or understanding, a notice, Co <br />be provided by the agency contr,zcting officer, aclvising the <br />labor union or workers' representative of the contractors <br />corNnitments under Section 202 0F F.xecutive Order No. 11246 <br />of September 24, 1965, and shall post copies of t11e notice <br />in conspicuous places availahle [o employees and applicants <br />for employment. <br />"(4) The contractor will comply with all provisions of Executive <br />Order No. 11246 of September 24, 1965, and of the rules, <br />regulations and relevant or.iers of the Secretary of Labor. <br />"(5) The contractor will furnish zll information and reports <br />required by F.xecutive Orcler No. 11246 of September 24, 1965, <br />and by the rulr.s, rcf;ulations, and ordcrs of the Secretary <br />of Labor, or purst,ant [hereto and wi11 permit access to his <br />books, records, ancl accoun[s by ttie contracting apency and <br />[he Secret;try oC Labor for purPoses of investigation to <br />
