RESOLUTION N0. 1931 . <br />WI;EREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public <br />Transportation, in compliance with Section 203 of the Highway Safety <br />Act of 1973, has developed a program to improve passive protection <br />at public railroad grade crossings; and, <br />WHEREAS, said program is avai~able to the City of Paris, with <br />no requirement for local funds; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it in the <br />best interest of the citizens of the City of Paris that the City of Paris <br />participate in said program, in order to upgrade crossbuck signs, num- <br />ber of track signs, advance warning signs and pavement markings to <br />conform with the standards specified in the Texas Manual on Uniform <br />Traffic Control Devices; NOW, THEREFORE, ~ <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the City Manager of the City of Paris, Robert W, Sokoll, <br />be, and he is hereby authorized and directed, on behalf of the City of <br />Paris, to execute any letters, agreements or assurances necessary <br />for the City of Paris to participate in the State Department of Highways <br />and Public Transportation program to improve passive protection at <br />public railroad grade crossings within the City of Paris and to transmit <br />a certified copy of this resolu~i.on to B.
