RESOLUTION NOp 1802 , <br />WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of <br />Wards 4, 5 and 7 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 2nd <br />day of April, 1977, for the purpose of voting for and electing <br />the Councilmen from each of said Wards to serve as members <br />of the City Council for the ensuing two (2) years, to-wit: <br />l. Councilman From Ward Four (4) <br />2. Councilman From Ward Five (5) <br />3. Councilman From Ward Seven (7) <br />WHEREAS, as required by Order of the District Court of <br />the United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris Division, <br />in Civil Action No. P-75-3-CA, and as provided in the Charter of <br />the City of Paris and the laws of the State of Texas wherein they <br />do not conflict with said Order, such election was conducted and <br />held at three (3) specified and designated polling places, that is, <br />one polling place in Warc~ 4, 5 and 7 of the City of Paris, Paris, <br />Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly <br />appointed and designated election officials of and for the three (3) <br />respective voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City <br />Council of the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns <br />after due and ~eliberate review and c~nvass thereof, show the <br />following results of said election, to-wit: <br />(1) IN WARD FOUR (4) A TOTAL OF 282 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD F UR (4) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Michael E. Malone 221 votes; <br />Ben M. Hinds ~l votes; <br />David Thomas 19 votes; <br />James E, Lynch, Jr. 9 votes; <br />Write~In Candidates ~ votes. <br />(2) IN WARD FIVE (5) A TOTAL OF 167 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD FIVE (5) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Curtis R, Fendley 63 votes; <br />W. C. Francis 23 votes; <br />David Philley votes; <br />Write~In Candidates 0 votes. <br />(3) IN WARD SEVEN (7) A TOTAL OF 228 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD SEVEN (7) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Raymond S. Wunsch 136 votes; <br />Freddy Swaim 92 votes; <br />Write~In Candidates p votes. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That from the above and foregoing canvass <br />of the returns of the votes in the three (3) respective voting boxes <br />in such election, it is declared and determ.ined that Michael E. Malone <br />
