RESOLUTION N0. 1831 ,
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its
<br />regular meeting on the 12th day of September, 1977, approve the
<br />advertisement for bids for furnishing the construction of asphalt
<br />overlay of the Cox rield Nor~h -South Runway (6000' x 15~' ) and
<br />other related work, dated August, 1977, which bids were received
<br />until 10:00 o'clock A. M. , Wednesday, October 5, 1977; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by
<br />W. A. McKenzie Asphalt Company, Commerce, Texas, and it
<br />should be awarded the contract for such construction work; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the form of contract to furnish such construction
<br />work is on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Paris,
<br />Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T~-E CITY OF
<br />PARIS, That the bid of W. A. McI<enzie Asphalt Company for
<br />furnishing the construction of asphalt overlay of the Cox Field
<br />North -South Runway and other related work, within 75 calendar
<br />days, in the amount of $244, 747. 45, is hereby accepted and let,
<br />condi~ioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and
<br />specifications included in the bid documents; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the
<br />City of Paris, I<erry R. Sweatt, be, and he is hereby authorized
<br />and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, a contract
<br />for the above described work, upon the terms and conditions and
<br />in the form on file in the official records of the City of Paris,
<br />Office of the City Clerk, Paris, Texas, entitled Specifications and
<br />Contract Documents for the Construction of Cox Field Airport,
<br />N-S Runway Overlay, FAA Project No. 6-48-0169-03 and
<br />6-48-0169-04, dated August, l_977, with W. A, McI<enzie Asphalt
<br />Company.
<br />Passed and adopted this 10th day of October, 1977.
