ESOLUTIONS\CURRENTkAccela Contract Res <br /> September 7, 2001 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATION OF A <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ACCELA, INC. FOR <br />THE PROVISION OF SOFTWARE, EQUIPMENT, AND SOFTWARE <br />APPLICATION SERVICES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A WEB- <br />BASED CODE ENFORCEMENT AND PERMITTING SYSTEM; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Code Enforcement and Permitting Divisions of the Community <br />Development Department are in need of an application to assist in the processing of permits and code <br />enforcement actions; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after considerable research by the City' s Technology Committee and numerous <br />evaluations by affected City staff, the web-based application provided by Accela, Inc. was determined <br />to be the most suitable application for effectively and efficiently meeting the needs of the City; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager and City Attorney should be authorized and directed to <br />negotiate and the City Manager to execute an agreement with Accela, Inc. for such processing <br />services; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City Manager and the City Attorney be, and they are hereby, authorized <br />and directed to negotiate and the City Manager to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, an <br />Agreement for Application Services for the provision of software, equipment, and software <br />application services for the implementation of a web-based code enforcement and permitting <br />application. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br /> <br /> <br />
