RESOLUTION NO. 1777 , <br />WHEREAS, the public convenience, safety and necessity of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and the people of the City of Paris, re- <br />quire that State Highway routes within the City be adequately main- <br />tained; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has requested that the State of <br />Texas, enter upon and contribute financially to the maintenance of <br />said State Highway routes; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State of Texas has made it known to the City of <br />Paris that it will, with its forces and equipment and at its sole cost <br />and expense, enter upon and maintain said project, conditioned upon <br />the provisions concerning liabilities and responsibilities for main- <br />tenance, control, supervision and regulation, which are set out in <br />the "MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT", dated November 8, <br />1976, attached hereto as Exhibit A; and, <br />WHEREAS, said project consists of those State Highways and/or <br />portions thereof, which are described and included in said Municipal <br />Maintenance Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That James M. Brunette, Mayor of the City of Paris, be, and <br />he is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the <br />contract with the Texas Highway Department, providing for mainte- <br />nance by the State of Texas of Texas Highways within the corpo rate <br />limits of the City of Paris, upon the terms and conditions and in the <br />form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of November, 1976. <br />U'r ne , Mayor <br />a es M, <br />A TTEST: <br />H.
