WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that, subsequent to the original
<br />review of the aforesaid project, it has been determined by engineers on behalf of the City that
<br />the aforesaid sanitary sewer extension for the Cope Addition project needs to be expanded to
<br />accommodate additional properties not within the scope of the original project, such expanded
<br />project being consistent with the original considerations regarding providing adequate sewer to
<br />the affected citizens in protecting the health, safety, and welfare; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the prior estimate for the cost of the project has now been escalated to a
<br />total cost of $476,700.00 plus engineering costs to accommodate the expanded scope of said
<br />project; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, as a consequence, in order to comply with State law and City ordinance,
<br />it is necessary to conduct a subsequent public hearing concerning the estimate of the project
<br />cost, the public need and necessary for said project, and to receive input from the affected
<br />citizens and the citizens in general regarding the aforesaid project; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the did heretofore, on August 13,2001, in Resolution
<br />No. 2001-130, approve setting a public hearing concerning the same at the regular Council
<br />meeting on October 8, 2001; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, due to scheduling conflicts the October 8, 2001, regular Council meeting
<br />is being consolidated with the Thursday, October 4, 2001, regular Council meeting, and the
<br />October 8, 2001, public hearing should be changed; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it would be right and proper to have a public hearing concerning the same
<br />at the regular Council meeting on Thursday, October 4, 2001, at which time the City Council
<br />will determine whether or not the pro rata project expansion should be had; NOW,
<br />THEREFORE,
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That the City Council finds and determines that there is a public necessity in
<br />order to preserve and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Paris
<br />to construct the aforesaid project as currently proposed.

<br /> Section 3.

<br />$556,700.00.
<br />
<br />That the estimate of the total cost for said project is now at $80,000.00 for
<br />and $476,700.00 for construction cost, for a total estimated cost of
<br />
<br /> Section 4. That a public hearing be held by and before the City Council of the City of
<br />Paris in regular session convened on the 4th day of October at 6:00 o'clock p.m., in the Paris
<br />
