RESOLUTION NO. 1617 . <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris was grantee in Sheriff's Deed dated <br />January 5, 1909, recorded Book 127, Page 509, Deed Records, Lamar <br />County, Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has never claimed nor exerted any <br />ownership right to the property conveyed in such deed, being as follows: <br />"Part of the Larkin Rattan Headright and in Corporate <br />limits of City of Paris, and being Lots Nos. 6& 7 Block <br />No. 8, in the Neagle Addition to the City of Paris, and front- <br />ing 100 feet on Wright Avenue and extending South 150 feet <br />to N. B. line of an Alley. " <br />AND, WHEREAS, such Sheriff's Deed does constitute a cloud on <br />the title of property now being procured for right of way for the im - <br />provement of F. M. Highway 1507, which cloud should be removed; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the Mayor, James M. Brunette, be, and he is hereby au- <br />thorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris a quit <br />claim deed conveying the hereinabove described property to the de- <br />fendant, T. P. Watts, in tax suit in the District Court of Lamar <br />County, Texas, wherein judgment was rendered on the 20th day of <br />November, 1908, and out of which the above described Sheriff's Deed <br />originated, in order that said Sheriff's Deed can be negated. <br />Passed and adopted this lOth day of June, 1974. <br />1~ i, - a <br />~ <br />J es M. runett , ayor <br />ATTEST: <br />, <br /> <br />, <br />- <br />. <br />H.
