RESOLUTION NO. 1630 . <br />A RESOLUTION ORDERING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE <br />HELD ON THE FOURTH TUESDAY IN OCTOBER, 1974, SAME <br />BEING THE 22ND DAY OF OCTOBER, 1974, BETWEEN THE HOURS <br />OF 8:00 O' CLOCK A. M. AND 7:00 O' CLOCK P. M. , BY THE <br />QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER AN AMOUNT NOT <br />LESS THAN $3, 000 OF THE ASSESSED VALUE OF RESIDENCE <br />HOMESTEADS OF PERSONS 65 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER SHALL <br />BE EXEMPT FROM AD VALOREM TAXES LEVIED BY THE CITY <br />OF PARIS. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br />Section l. That a special election be held by the qualified <br />voters of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the fourth Tuesday in <br />October, 1974, same being the 22nd day of October, 1974, between <br />the hours of 8:00 0' clock A. M. and 7:00 0' clock P. M. , for the pur - <br />pose of determining whether an amount not less than $3, 000 of the <br />assessed value of residence homesteads of persons 65 years of age <br />or older shall be exempt from ad valorem taxes levied by the City <br />of Paris, as provided in Article 8, Section 1-b, of the Constitution <br />of the State of Texas. <br />Section 2. 'Ihat the polling places and election officials of <br />such election shall be as follows: <br />Ward One (1): <br />Polling Place: Paris Junior College <br />Clarksville Street at 24th Street, S. E. <br />Officials: Mr. W. J. Johnson , Presiding Judge <br />Mrs. John Hol je , Judge <br />Ward Two (2): <br />Polling Place: Oak Park United Methodist Church <br />2515 Bonham Street <br />Officials: Mrs. Elizabeth Tompkins , Presiding Judge <br />Mrs. Elmer Dement , Judge <br />Ward Three (3): <br />Polling Place: Calvary Assembly of God Church <br />240 19th Street, N. W. <br />Officials: Mrs. Margaret Biard , Presiding Judge <br />Mrs. Hanna Shaeffer , Judge <br />Ward Four (4): <br />Polling Place: First Christian Church <br />780 20th Street, N.
