RESOLUTION NO. 1555
<br />WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of the
<br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 3rd day of April, 1973, for the
<br />purpose of voting for and electing three (3) members at large of the
<br />City Council of the City of Paris to serve for the ensuing two (2)
<br />years, to-wit:
<br />Three Councilmen at Large
<br />WHEREAS, as required by law and directed and provided by the
<br />Charter and Ordinances of the City of Paris, such election was conducted
<br />and held at four (4) specified and designated polling places, that is, one
<br />polling place in each of the four (4) wards of the City of Paris, Paris,
<br />Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the duly
<br />appointed and designated election officials of and for the four (4) re-
<br />spective voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City Council
<br />of the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns, after due and
<br />deliberate review and canvass thereof, show the following results of
<br />said election, to-wit:
<br />(1) IN WARD ONE (1) A TOTAL OF 692 VOTES WERE CAST AS
<br />FOLLOWS:
<br />For Three Councilmen at Large:
<br />Joe Szekely, 209 Votes;
<br />Nathan Bell IV, TM Votes;
<br />Paul Wood, 27 Votes;
<br />Billy R. Young, 172 Votes;
<br />John P. Crabtree, Jr. , 35 Votes;
<br />Lloyd S. Sterling, 174 Votes;
<br />Jerry D. Robertson, Votes;
<br />Harvey Cavender, 97 Votes;
<br />James M. Brunette, 550 Votes;
<br />Joe R. King, 246 Votes;
<br />O. L. Rainey, 232 Votes;
<br />Write-In Candidates, 1 Votes.
<br />(2) IN WARD TWO (2) A TOTAL OF 108 VOTES WERE CAST AS
<br />FOLLOWS:
