RESOLUTION NO. 1516
<br />WHIIREAS, the City of Paris did in Resolution No. 1453
<br />authorize the purchase and renovation of a police facility to
<br />be partially financed through action grants by the Texas
<br />Criminal Justice Council; and,
<br />WHEREAS, such project was approved at a total cost of
<br />$140,000.00, $70,000.00 to be furnis hed by CJC and $70,000.00
<br />to be furnished by the City of Paris; and,
<br />WHER EAS, said project was approved by the Texas Criminal
<br />Justice Council,designated Grant No. 1-L1-859, which provided
<br />for CJC participation in the amount of $60,000.00; and,
<br />WHIIZEAS, bids were let, which resulted in $21,534.00
<br />additional renovation costs, and the Criminal Justice Council
<br />was requested by letter dated August 17, 1972, to participate
<br />in the additional renovation costs, and did by letter dated
<br />September 20, 1972 approve an additional award for the renova-
<br />tion of the Paris Police Facility in the amount of $10,767.00,
<br />which award requires acceptance by the City of Paris; NOW,
<br />TH IIREFOR E,
<br />BE IT RESOLVE,D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />AS FOLLOWS:
<br />1. That the total cost of renovation of the Paris
<br />Police Facility be approved in the amount of
<br />$141,534.00, $70,767.00 to be furnished by CJC
<br />and $70,767.00 to be furnished by the City of
<br />Paris.
<br />2. That Loyd Mathews, Chief, Paris Police Department,
<br />continue as Project Director as heretofore ap-
<br />pointed.
<br />3. That H. C. Greene, Director of Finance, continue
<br />as Financial Officer of said project as hereto-
<br />fore appointed.
<br />4. That H. C. Greene, Acting City Manager, be, and
<br />he is hereby authorized and directed to execute
<br />and deliver, on behalf of the City of Paris, the
<br />necessary applications, communications, instru-
<br />ments and documents necessary for the completion
<br />of said project.
<br />5. That the Statement of Grar.t Award of the Texas
<br />Criminal Justice Council, dated September 20,
<br />1972, and the rules and conditions therein
<br />stated, attached hereto as Fxhibit A, the
<br />standard grant conditions and special require-
<br />ments, are hereby accepted.
<br />6. That the Mayor, James W. Farris, be, and he is
<br />hereby authorized and directed to execute, on
<br />behalf of the City of Paris, the Agreement
<br />attached hereto as Exhibit B.
