RFSQLUTION NO. 1477 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of cooperating with <br />the Paris Independent School District in order to provide a <br />larger and better appointed auditorium for the use of the citi- <br />zens of Paris; and, <br />WHIIREAS, the cost of participation to the extent of an <br />extra 250 seats and an orchestra pit suitable to accommodate an <br />18 piece orchestra to the planned 1,000 seat auditorium that <br />Paris Independent School District is building in conjunction <br />with its new high school plant to be located within the City of <br />Paris, is estimated at $110,750.00; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RFSOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS? <br />That the Mayor of the City of Paris, James W. Farris, be, and <br />he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract of agreement <br />with Paris Independent School District, providing for the co- <br />operation of the City of Paris in furnishing an extra 250 seats <br />and an orchestra pit suitable to accommodate an 18 piece <br />orchestra to the planned 1,000 seat auditorium of the new high <br />school facilities being constructed within the City of Paris, <br />which contract must provide for a plaque or other physical evi- <br />dence of the City's participation in such auditorium; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That H. C. Greene, Director of <br />Finance o_f the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to deliver at such appropriate time, $110,750.00 <br />to Paris Independent School District upon certification of the <br />architect of said project that the amount is directly attribut- <br />able to the 250 seat and orchestra pit suitable to accommodate <br />an 18 piece orchestra addition. <br />Passed and adopted this 13th day of March, 1972. <br />Jai)(es W.
