RESOLUTION NO. 1453 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, <br />Texas, is aware of the fact that the Paris Police Dep artment is <br />housed in cramped, inadequate and antiquated quarters, and that <br />said Department could better serve the citizens of Paris, Lamar <br />County and this region, if a new structure of adequate size was <br />made available; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is of the <br />opinion that an existing structure could be purchased and reno- <br />vated to serve the immediate and future needs of the Police <br />Department of the City of Paris; and, <br />WHER FAS, in order to finance such purchase and renovation, <br />it is necessary for the City of Paris to avail itself of funds <br />made available through action grants by the Texas Criminal <br />Justice Council; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RFSOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PAR I S, T FxAS , AS FOLLOWS : <br />1. That the City of Paris process an application for <br />action grant from the Texas Criminal Justice Council, <br />to assist in financing the project entitled <br />"Renovation of Paris Police Facility", at a total <br />cost of $140,000.00, $70,000.00 to be furnis hed by <br />C.J.C. and $70,000.00 to be furnished by the City of <br />Paris. <br />2. That Loyd Mathews, Chief, Paris Police Department, <br />be, and he is hereby appointed Project Director. <br />3. That H. C. Greene, Director of Finance, be, and he <br />is hereby appointed Financial Officer of said <br />project. <br />4. That C. L. Walker, City Man ager, be, and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute and de- <br />liver, on behalf of the City of Paris, the necessary <br />applications, communications, instruments and docu- <br />ments necessary for the completion of said project. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of~November, 1971. <br />W.
